Facility PlanningDesigning a precision machining unit is much more than deciding where to place CNC machines inside a factory building. A well-designed machining facility must bring together production planning, machine selection, process flow, material movement, quality control, utilities, safety, storage, maintenance and future expansion into one coordinated facility design.
Plant LayoutA CNC machining plant is not simply a large industrial building filled with machines. The way CNC machines, raw materials, tooling, inspection areas, storage, utilities and material-handling routes are arranged has a direct impact on production efficiency, operator productivity, safety, maintenance and future expansion.
Space PlanningOne of the first questions asked when planning a new machining facility is: "How much space do I need for my CNC machining plant?"
We design manufacturing facilities around the process they have to house — not the other way round. Every project is modelled in BIM before construction, so clashes between structure, services and process equipment are resolved in the model rather than on site. That is where our 10–15% construction cost saving comes from. We take on 2–4 large projects a year, deliberately, so senior people stay on every one of them.
